To be able to work in Overseas Hospitality and also on Cruise Ships is not easy and several conditions must be met. Generally, the requirements for working at Factories, Overseas Hotels and Cruises are:

1. Have some documents, such as:

 

Employment contract.

 

In order to work in the Company, our overseas hotels and cruise ships must have a contract of work issued by the company through an agent in our country. If we agree on the contents of the contract, we will sign and return it to our agents, as well as saving a copy for our records.

Basic Safety Training (BST).

Before leaving we must follow and pass the training on the basics of safety. For example, how to prevent and cope with fires, first aid for self safety and so forth. This certificate is valid for 5 years but may be extended for the following year.

Passport.

This is an absolute requirement to travel abroad. It must be valid for a minimum of one year on departure.  Passport also includes visa, for which European countries we must apply for Schengen Visa and for American Countries we must have C1 D Visa. This visa is usually taken care of by our agent.

Seaman Book.

A book of seafarers issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Besides, it is also necessary Panama Seaman Book that can be taken care of when working on cruise ships. It is the worker’s responsibility to pay for this book themselves.

Medical Certificate.

According to international regulations we must follow and pass medical or health test every 2 years. However, in MSC in particular required to undergo medical each will go to the cruise ship. This also includes getting Yellow Papper, Rubella, and Chicken Pox vaccinations. This medical certificate must be written in English and issued by established authorities such as clinics and hospitals.

 

And there may be other additions depending on the nature of the intent and requests of the respective companies.

 

Language

We must master at least English both orally and in writing. Because in the Foreign Affairs and Cruises we work with people from other countries, such as from India, Philippines, Myanmar, Italy, Honduras, Guatemala, Brazil, Madagascar, and so forth. When mastering other languages ​​such as Italian, French, Spanish or other languages ​​it is a plus.
